Jenise is a contemporary gospel singer/songwriter, raised in Norcross, GA and born in Queens, NY. Her passion for music began at an early age as a challenge from her father and manager Bishop Steve B. Walters, to write a song if she seriously wanted to become a gospel singer. Jenise began writing at the age of eleven and took her love of serving God’s people through music very seriously. Her first EP, The Call released in June of 2015 and landed her two Rhythm of Gospel Awards in for Best Performance By an Urban Contemporary Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Female Vocalist, and a Pearl Award for Best New Artist.
Jenise La Vonne is a true Psalmist, seeking the heart of Christ to compose songs to serve His people. Jenise’s style is reminiscent of the gospel greats of the past while blending the sounds of urban contemporary and CCM.
